It's a Queens, New York thing, as Nicki Minaj nabs the # 6 slot on MTV's Hottest MC's In The Game list. The Young Money rapper lands one spot ahead of her boss, Lil Wayne and becomes the first female to ever grab a spot on the list. Nicki's rise to the top of the game is simply amazing, when you consider the fact that she doesn't have an album or groundbreaking mixtape out.
Her buzz has been built around her animated looks and wordplay, as well as countless features, where she has often outshined the artists who's song she appears on. One of her most impressive moments came on the Kanye West track "Monster." Not only did Nicki hold her own against Yeezy, Officer Ross and Jay-Z, many will argue she had the best verse.
Nicki has shown she can also do it by herself, with the hit song "Your Love.". Her debut album 'Pink Friday' drops next month, so it will be interesting to see if she can continue build on the momentum she has going so far
